Allison Carroll
Abilene City Council, Place 4
Abilene is built on strong values, hard work, and community. We are a city of people who care deeply about where we’re headed. I’m running for City Council because I believe we can grow responsibly, foster a high quality of life for all residents, and make thoughtful decisions that reflect the voices of the people who live here.
Meet Allison
A Long-time Abilene resident and former downtown business owner, Allison Carroll has been investing in our community for almost 25 years. She arrived in Abilene in 2001 to attend Abilene Christian University and, after graduating with her degree in Psychology, began a career in coffee. During that time she met her now-husband, Jonathan; they decided to make Abilene their home and in 2015 Allison purchased downtown favorite, Monks Coffee Shop.Â
Throughout the next ten years, Allison led Monks to great success, energizing the downtown scene and building a strong sense of community for all who came into the shop. She was recognized professionally as 20 Under 40 (2019) and Young Entrepreneur of the Year (2020) through the Chamber of Commerce, and is a graduate of Leadership Abilene (2018). Playing an active role in downtown revitalization efforts during her three years as President of the Abilene Downtown Association, Allison led the downtown pedestrian trashcan initiative, served on the Mayor’s Downtown Taskforce, and sat on the Minter Park renovation planning committee.Â
Her community involvement extends beyond downtown to include past board membership on the Abilene Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Abilene Chamber of Commerce, the KACU Community Advisory Board, and she proudly served on the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee for the City of Abilene. Â
Current Vice President of the Abilene Downtown Association and Abilene Hope Haven board member, Allison Carroll looks to broaden her community involvement by serving as the next representative of Place 4 on the Abilene City Council.
As your City Council member, I will…

Support ongoing and new efforts to provide sufficient availability of affordable housing for renters and homeowners alike.
Strive to create a high quality of life for all residents by investing in parks, police, fire, and supporting small businesses.
Maintain a connection with the community so decisions reflect the voices of people who live here.
